Traveling to Moldova

I am so thankful that today has finally arrived!  It seemed like it would never get here – and some times, I didn’t WANT it to get here.  But I am looking forward to the next 10 days and excited to see how God is going to use our group.

I woke up around 6:00 this morning for a shower and some last minute packing.  Brad and I headed out for the airport around 8:00, knowing we needed to be there at 9:00.  Because we are going on an international trip, our bags needed to be checked in about 3 hours before our departure.

It was tougher than I thought saying goodbye to Brad, but I was excited to see the people that I’ve already grown to love, and the many others that I know I will grow to love over this week.  I am definitely missing Brad…and Emmitt, but I know it is in these moments God will allow me to grow the most.

Our flight left at 12:05, and because of eating a little later breakfast, I wasn’t too hungry.  We arrived in Charlotte around 3:30, and considering lunch got a little skipped over, I was starving (and so were most of the others.)  James, Michael, and I checked in at our gate, dropped our bags off, and headed back to the food court for some bar-b-que.  This was the last American meal I will have until we get to the Chicago airport on our way home!

Our flight from NC to Munich, Germany left at 5:20 and is set to arrive around 8:00 in the morning.

I’m not sure what time it is now, but I know that we are several thousand feet up in the air and heading over the ocean to our destination.  I’m already experiencing some new things, including my first time to have a meal on an airplane and my first time to sleep (overnight) on an airplane.
