A Saturday in A Town

Brad and I are getting ready for some serious car time this coming weekend, so he wanted to have the car all checked out before we leave.  This included an oil change and new brakes...who wants to spend $200 on something that isn't pretty?! ;)  Oil changes always include a trip to Arlington because they are *free* where we bought the car!  And trips to Arlington always include a trip to our house!

Anthony had messaged B earlier in the week to let him know the house had been shingled, so that wasn't TOO much of a surprise (although it's still so fun to see!) but there was lots of other changes we weren't expecting.  The two main ones being that our brick had been delivered and the windows had been installed!

I hadn't even realized that Brad's little sister, Erin, hadn't been over to see where we are moving yet.  We took her through the model home and then gave her the grand tour of our house!  She is just as excited as we are. :)

Shhhh...don't tell Erin or Jake, but they have claimed the same room!! Did I mention Erin is pretty excited about us moving back to Arlington and into our first home?! :)

We are pretty excited about ALL that is going into our kitchen...including our skylight.  Our builder said it will really help keep our house cool when we are cooking (in our double oven with 5 burners!) because all of the heat will be able to go up there!

I was going through the house trying to point out all of the changes that had been made since we'd been last week, and I kept seeing tiny red and blue wires...we finally realized they were for the security system (on all the doors and windows).  Bryan (in our master bedroom closet) was explaining to us (in the kitchen pantry) that these wires will all be in a panel in our closet.

I'm not sure if I've mentioned it yet or not, but I REALLY love our doors! :) This is the door going into the garage...B's already got big plans for the garage!

Some of the other changes that were added since we were last at our house included the tubing for our hot and cold water and some beautiful radiant barrier in the roof!!  I'm a fan of HOT showers, COLD drinking water, and insulation to keep it hot when it's not and cold when it's hot!

Up next...they'll be adding all the electrical wiring and then SHEETROCK!  No more walking through walls :)
