18 out of 36 hours...

Brad and I spend 18 hours of our weekend in a car in a matter of 36 hours...It might seem a little crazy, but it was SO worth it.

Friday at noon, Brad and I headed to Sulphur Springs (1.5 hours) to pick up my parents and make the rest of the trip to Arkadelphia (2.5 hours).  We got to see one of my favorite people in the world do one of her favorite things in the world.

My sweet friend, Kate Cody, is a junior at Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas where she auditioned to be a host at their annual Tiger Tunes...and OF COURSE she made it :) That girl is made to be on stage.  She definitely lights it up and her voice is just beautiful.   Tiger Tunes is an event where the fraternities and sororities put together singing/dancing acts and compete against each other.  The Hosts serve as the MC's and perform acts of their own between each of the groups.  Kate definitely did an amazing job, and I'm SO thankful we were able to make it down to see her.

Me and Kate after the show - She was AWESOME!
We headed back to Sulphur Springs (2.5 hours) after the show and were in bed by 1:30 am! I'm definitely too old for that!!

We headed out for Galveston (6 hours) around 11:00 on Saturday morning and got to spend a little bit of time with Alan and Candice before heading to our good friend, Chris Weld's wedding to his BEAUTIFUL bride Elizabeth.  They are so precious together and had a beautiful wedding ceremony and reception...and some YUMMY, YUMMY food!

Brad and I KNEW we wanted to be in Arlington on Sunday so that we could check out the progress on our home, so we checked in with his Mema and Cliff to see if we could stay with them.  We knew we'd rather get there super late and sleep in, than be in the car most of Sunday and have to get up early for work on Monday, so we left the wedding around 8:00 and drove back to Kennedale (5.5 hours) for ANOTHER 1:30 bedtime.

When we got to sleep in on Sunday morning, eat some of Mema's AMAZING sticky buns, visit our house, AND be home with all afternoon/evening to rest...it was definitely worth the late night driving.

We were also excited to take Mema and Cliffy over to our neigborhood/house for the first time.  The builder's crew had definitely made some more progress this week getting all of the electrical wiring added to the house.
